This page documents for historical interest the progression of CoaXPress from conception to standardization in 2011 and recognizes the hard work by a core group of individuals and companies.
The concept of CoaXPress was first demonstrated at VISION 2008, in Stuttgart, Germany. Shortly thereafter the CoaXPress Consortium was formed – a consortium of industrial companies consisting of Adimec, Eqcologic, Active Silicon, Aval Data, NED and Components Express.
The technology was demonstrated again the following year at VISION 2009 and won the prestigious Vision Award 2009 for technical innovation.
Following additional input from a variety of contributing companies during the following twelve months as part of a standardization process, the final draft specification became an official JIIA standard in January 2011. See the January 2011 Newsletter here and January 4, 2011 press release here. Following a further three month appeal period, CoaXPress became a world standard in March 2011 – press release here.
